I’m using wordpress for my landing page, its actually in the form of a review style website and i’ve got 7 products on there. I have no idea how i’d go about setting up tracking on such a website. I’ve watched your video on setting up tracking on a wordpress landing page, however i’m not to sure it applies to the format of my landing page. Thanks
Hey,
Well it all depends on your traffic source and how much tracking data you want. For instance if you're using some form of PPC / PPV you can use Prosper202 and setup an advanced landing page that will provide you the Click-Through Rate for each affiliate link as well as the Conversion Rate for each.
If you're using Articles for instance to bring in visitors, you can still use Prosper202 if you want or you can setup something like Piwik Analytics.
For SEO traffic I would suggest Piwik Analytics or something like Conversion Prophet.
I personally use all 3 tracking scripts on a dedicated tracking domain for all my tracking needs. It takes a bit longer to setup each site, but the data is killer.
Of course to setup any tracking on WordPress the Ad Trackr Code Manager plugin makes it copy and paste easy. I had that plugin custom made for me because I got sick and tired of working with custom templates and PHP code in my footer file.
So depending on your traffic source setting up tracking on WordPress is a matter of picking the right tool for the job.
I hope that helps out...
Thanks,
Derek
